Certain areas are famous for certain designs. For example, Central Javanese designs are influenced by traditional patterns and colors. The batik from the north coast of Java, near Pekalongan and Cirebon have been greatly influenced by the Chinese culture. This is because the early generation of the local traders did trading with Chinese pioneer merchants. Their designs have bright colors and more flower and cloud designs.

High fashion design on the media of silk is very popular among the wealthy Indonesians, the process of making batik on silk can take more than 3 months. So, it’s understandable why it’s quite expensive.
